Alcester Town Colts Vs Shipston U.10s  1-1

With both teams looking to secure a top 3 finish this season, there was end to end action from the start. Shipston attacked first, forcing Colts keeper Matt 'Bertie' Turner to save. Alcester immediately responded with Owen Jones hitting a powerful shot which left the Shipston keeper standing but was just wide of the post. Minutes later, after great work from Vranic, Jacob Siviter saw his effort tipped over the bar and Jude Wynter hit a great shot on target but met the keepers hands. Ollie White made his Colts debut and made an immediate impact in midfield. Bertie continued to keep Alcester in the game pulling off two great saves just before half-time. Shortly after the break, the Colts fed the ball up field to Alfie Betteridge who shrugged off two defenders before passing a great through ball to Harry Vranic and with a cool head shook off the last defender and buried the ball with precision. Jones moved from midfield to defence to support Colts captain Connor McKensie after Don McKeon went off injured as Alcester continued to pressure with Vranic, Siviter and man of the match Wynter looking to extend the Colts lead. Shipston eventually found a way through with a 20 yard screamer which hit the back of the net pulling the two teams level again. With seconds to go White almost clinched victory for the Colts but shot just wide after a strong run from midfield through the Shipston defence. Commenting after the game Colts Manager Sean Bates said 'Their attitude was brilliant, I'm proud of all the boys'.
