AND
ALCESTER 2000 FOOTBALL CLUB
IMPORTANT MERGER STATEMENT - RELEASED BY BOTH CLUBS
To All Players and Parents of Alcester Town and Alcester 2000 Football Clubs
During the last few months, discussions have been taking place and it has been decided to merge the two Alcester Football Clubs, Alcester Town FC and Alcester 2000 FC.
It is proposed that the Merger will officially take place at the end of this current season at the Annual General Meeting on Thursday, 19th June 2008 at 8.00 pm to be held at Alcester Trades & Labour Club. All parents are invited to attend.
An Open Day is then scheduled for Saturday, 7th June 2008 between 10.00 am and 12.00 noon at Oversley Green Playing Fields where all new and existing players are invited to attend to register for teams playing in the forthcoming 2008-9 season.
A Mini Soccer Tournament due to be held over the weekend of 21st/22nd June 2008 will be the Official Launch of the Merger with Publicity and Press Release.
Further details of all events will be issued by Team Managers accordingly.
This merger should be regarded as positive and beneficial to both Clubs and will allow the newly formed Alcester Town Football Club to progress and develop to a Football Association Community Standard Club, recognised by the Birmingham FA Development Scheme and The Football Association.
Alcester Town FC following the merger will have at least 250 players in the Club, both Boys and Girls from 5 years old through to Adults, making it one of the largest football organisations in the area.
Football has been played in the town of Alcester for over 100 years with Alcester Town FC founded in 1927. The Merger of the two Football Clubs on Thursday, 19th June 2008 will be a proud day in the history of Alcester Town Football Club.
